Club Dress Code

Change to club dress code - With effect from 19th November 2012

Following the approval and adoption of an official club shirt at the 17th August 2012 EGM the clubs Dress Code has been amended as follows;


7. Dress Code

1.      The Club's official clothing colour is white with green and gold accessories (ties, cravats, etc.) (AGM 19/5/1994 and EGM 16/3/2004).


2.      Club members must be clad in predominately white/cream above the waist for all club sessions. An official club shirt, as agreed and approved by the committee and the CBBA will be worn for all Club Representative and Club Championship matches i.e. Leagues, CBBA Competitions, Touring Teams (EGM 17/08/2012). Exceptions to these rules apply when the Controlling Body allows clothing of other colours to be worn by players, Umpires and Markers (AGM 3/5/2007)

Ladies

White or Cream - Bowling skirt, bowling dress, tailored trousers, cropped tailored trousers or tailored Bermuda length shorts are acceptable. (Bermuda length is 3 inches above the knee to the middle of the knee). Blouses, Polo shirts or other similar. Tops may be worn sleeveless BUT must have a collar. If sleeveless must be of a modest design. If a Club has registered with the CBBA Secretary that they intend to wear coloured shirts this acceptable provided the whole SIDE wears them at any event. Jogging bottoms or track suit bottoms are NOT acceptable. Shorts, or cropped trousers with draw strings, toggles, large outside patch pockets or other adornments on the legs are NOT acceptable.

Gentlemen

White or Cream - Tailored trousers or tailored Bermuda length shorts with predominately white shirt. Shirts MUST have sleeves and a collar. If a Club has registered with the CBBA Secretary that they intend to wear coloured shirts this acceptable provided the whole SIDE wears them at any event. Jogging bottoms, track suit bottoms, cropped trousers or shorts with large outside or patch pockets on the legs are NOT acceptable. The official definition of Bermuda length is - from 3 inches above the knee to the middle of the knee.


 3.      Smooth soled heel-less footwear, as defined in the Laws Of The Game, must be worn at all times on the green and should not be used in any area other than the confines of the Club. Any committee member or representative of the Owners will have the right to inspect such footwear and to temporarily debar the wearer should the said footwear be considered detrimental to the Green.


4.      Members must wear ties and/or cravats in the official club colours of green and gold at matches and competitions,(AGM 6/11/2008). However, if the club has an official club shirt, agreed and approved by the committee and the CBBA for use at all club representative matches & league and Club Championship matches this will be worn in place of ties and/or cravats (EGM 17/08/2012).

CBBA Dress Code

Ladies

Coloured tops are acceptable provided they have been registered with the CBBA Secretary and are worn by the whole SIDE at any event.  (Bermuda length is 3 inches above the knee to the middle of the knee). Jogging bottoms, track suit bottoms, cropped trousers or shorts with large outside or patch pockets on the legs are NOT acceptable. The official definition of Bermuda length is - from 3 inches above the knee to the middle of the knee.


Footwear

As stated in the CBBA Constitution...

Smooth-soled heel-less footwear, designed for bowling, are to be worn. Sandals and other open shoes MUST have a back strap. Such footwear must be white, brown, grey or black. NO other form of footwear is acceptable.


Headgear

All headgear must be predominantly white. However if a Club has elected to wear coloured shirts then the same colour headgear may be worn.


Would ALL clubs please ensure that ALL their members observe this Dress Code when competing in ALL CBBA competitions.
